Watt Owl was born from a simple frustration: Texas electricity shopping is needlessly confusing. With over 100 Retail Electric Providers (REP) and thousands of plans, finding the right one for your home shouldn't require a spreadsheet and a statistics degree.

What is Watt Owl's Mission?

We believe every Texan deserves to understand what they can expect to pay for electricity. That's why we built Watt Owl: a transparent, no-nonsense comparison tool that shows you estimated costs based on your usage, not just the 500/1000/2000 kWh breakpoints required by regulators.

Who We Are

Watt Owl is an independent Texas company, founded in 2025. We are not a Retail Electric Provider — we don't sell electricity or own any generation or transmission infrastructure. We're a licensed retail electric broker whose only job is helping you find the right plan.
